Alecia's Family Day Care

Alecia's Family Day Care Service provides a learning environment embedded with Montessori, Steiner and Reggio Emilia guiding philosophies (Edwards, 2002). It is within these three guiding philosophies that facilitate an individual child's own innate capacity for holistic learning, in which situated learning experiences recognize each child as a capable and sensory learner. The tree philosophies recognize the environment, the child's social interaction and community expectations or curriculum expectations that are interwoven in to the child's individual learning processes creating inclusive practices. Factors that separate the difference of all three methods exists in the identification of how the child learns and how learning is approached or introduced. finding what works for individual children and families ensures adherence to Australian Curriculum objectives of the Melbourne Declaration of Educational Goals for Young Australians, the Australian Curriculum, the Early Years Learning Framework: Belonging, Being & Becoming, the National Quality Standards, which govern all early childhood services and school aged care services.
