Albion Park High School

This is the official Facebook Page of Albion Park High School – NSW DEC. This page has been created to provide you with timely information about what it happening at our school and to provide a hub for responsible community engagement that celebrates the daily life of our school, including student achievements.

Albion Park High School proactively supports participation in social media to develop digital citizenship, and by joining the Facebook community, APHS follows both the DEC Code of Conduct and Facebook terms and conditions. APHS reserves the right to remove any content that we believe is in breach of these policies, guidelines and values of our school.

Comments Policy

While APHS encourages interaction from Facebook users in a respectful and civil manner, it is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page, nor can it be assumed these reflect the policies or values of APHS.

APHS will remove content if it contains:
• Offensive, abusive, obscene, profane, hateful or racist content, links or images
• Comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation
• Solicitations and advertisements by other organisations or endorsements by other organisations, or endorsements of other organisations
• Multiple or repetitive posts by a single user

In the interest of our community members, any actions that breach the privacy of another individual, such as posting photos without prior permission, will be removed instantly.

APHS reminds users that their name and photo will be seen next to your comment, visible to the thousands of visitors to our page. Facebook, and APHS, encourages all users to utilise the ‘Report’ links if they consider any material to be offensive.

Friending staff on Facebook

Please note that the DEC has this advice for teachers ‘Friending’ parents on Facebook:

"The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with the parents when that becomes necessary.
You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on Facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal.”

APHS does not encourage staff to friend parents or students. Please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook, as refusal often offends.
