Is ABC Classic 2 available on the FM band or digital radio?
At this stage you can only listen to Classic 2 via the newly released ABC Radio player - which streams on both desktop and mobile - and via the ABC Radio and ABC apps, available on both iPhone and Android. You can launch the radio player from our Tumblr homepage abc.net.au/classic2 and also abc.net.au/radio. You can download both the ABC Radio app and the ABC app for free from your usual app stores.

Why did the ABC launch a second classical music station?
Classic 2 is both a pathway and an alternative to ABC Classic FM’s specialist programs and aims to introduce classical music to a new online audience. The station will be an un-presented continuous stream supported by engaging composer and work background information suitable for all levels of interest and knowledge viewable on the newly launched ABC Radio Player.

Who is programming the music?
Programmed by the team behind ABC Classic FM, the talk-free sister station playlist is created from ABC Classics’ extensive catalogue of classical music played by Australia’s finest musicians.

Can I buy any of the music I hear?
Yes. The music is available at ABC Shops and centre and digital music retailers.
