Her work is created by meticulously cutting away paper to leave behind a delicate tableaus. It is often whimsical in nature with the inclusion of text to give it a contemporary slant. Drawn to paper as a medium for its simplicity and delicate nature. This humble material comes alive as each cut is made and the image revealed. Ellen's work ranges in size and style and whilst she primarily creates paper cuts she often explores other artistic avenues including screenprints and lights.
