More about 410 Squadron Australian Air Force Cadets Bendigo

On behalf of the Staff Members and Cadets of Number 410 Squadron, Australian Air Force Cadets - Bendigo (410SQNAAFC) I would like to welcome you to our page. This page is designed to give you an insight into the activities that 410 Squadron Cadets and Staff Members participate in, and the opportunities that being part of the AAFC can offer you.
Throughout the short history of 410 Squadron we have seen many Cadets participate in activities that would ordinarily be unavailable to the average teenager. Some of the fantastic opportunities our Cadets have had include:
•Obtaining a Pilots License before being able to drive a car,
•Gliding,
•Rides in various Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Aircraft, including aerobatics in a Pilatus PC-9, as flown by the Royal Australian Air Force Aerobatic Team, the 'Roulettes',
•Camps at operational RAAF Bases around Australia, including hands on tours of base operations,
•Visits to other Air Force Cadets and Units around the world to represent the Australian Air Force Cadets,
•Up close and personal tours of some of the worlds most potent fighting aircraft including the F-111, F/A-18, F-16 and F-15,
•Visits to Tullamarine Control Tower and the Air Traffic Control complex,
•Training on and firing the F-88 Steyr - the standard rifle used by the Australian Defence Force (ADF),
•Rides in Australian Regular Army (ARA) vehicles and tours of Royal Australian Navy (RAN) vessels,
•Participating in Field Craft and Survival Camps,
•Assisting groups such as Returned and Services League (RSL), Legacy, Rotary and the Royal Australian Air Force Association (RAAFA),
•Learning valuable leadership and communication skills, and
•Learning about life in the Australian Defence Force.
As you tour our page, you will see that the Australian Air Force Cadets is an excellent organisation that allows adolescents a chance to learn about the Royal Australian Air Force and the Australian Defence Force in general. We offer the chance to learn life skills that are normally unavailable to teenagers, especially in the non-metropolitan parts of Australia.
If you are interested in the Australian Air Force Cadets and live in the Bendigo area then feel free to visit the Squadron during one of our Parade Nights. These are held every Monday night during School Terms between the hours of 6:15 pm and 10:00 pm. The Squadron is based at Passchendaele Barracks, aka the Bendigo MUD. Phone: 0472 739 910

I am sure you will find 410 Squadron Bendigo interesting and I look forward to meeting you at the Squadron or on one of the many activities we take part in throughout Central Victoria.
Yours Sincerely,

Greg Spiers
Flying Officer (AAFC)
Commanding Officer
