Scouting is a growing, worldwide youth movement with over 30 million members. It is the largest voluntary, non-political movement for all young people. Activities are based on the interests of the young people involved with emphasis on useful skills and service to others. Scouting offers oppertunities for young people to work together and develop hobbies and skills. They develop mature ability and dexterity and learn to appreciate the great outdoors. There is an award scheme incorporating challanges and encourages them to qualify in subjects such as citizenship, air activities, camp craft, water activities, fitness, cratf, science, bushcraft, abseiling, caving, rock climbing as well as combined Divisional, Regional and State Activities.
