In October 1980, Minoru Yoshida from Japan did 10,507 press-ups in a row and set a new world record.
I think this might be him here but cannot confirm http://www.asi.riken.jp/en/laboratories/chieflabs/chemi-gene/
WELCOME TO THE AUSTRALIA DAY 2012 100 PRESS-UP MEGA CHALLENGE
On January 26 ,2012, we will try to do 100 consecutive press-ups before having a quiet Australia Day celebration, wherever we are in the world (I will be doing mine on the bathroom floor or maybe on the sand).
HERE'S THE PLAN:
1 > See how many press-ups you can do in a row
2 > Write as a comment beneath the START post on the wall
3 > Follow a program to gradually increase your non-stop total to 100 by 26th Jan
4 > Take a picture of your biceps and make it into a t-shirt or put it inside a necklace locket
