More about Winds of the Wild

*** The Indigo Lotus Fair Trade Initiative has been rebranded as Winds of the Wild. We are on the same mission, with a slightly different direction! More info to come soon... ***

The Indigo Lotus Fair Trade Initiative was founded in the Autumn of 2012.

The driving force behind Indigo Lotus is to empower and support opportunity for disadvantaged communities through sustainable development, and beyond.

The vision for Indigo Lotus Initiative is to grow to the point where likeminded individuals- enlightened beings, kindred spirits- can all work together to assist developing communities. We all have knowledge, we all have skills and qualifications... most of all we all have a desire to help, to assist, to nurture, to love. Aid projects and development programs both in Australia and internationally will be a huge focus of what Indigo Lotus is all about- and there will be opportunity for our community to travel to assist in said projects and programs. Fundraisers will be organised down the track to fund these projects!

In its infancy, Indigo Lotus will be primarily be operating as a store- selling, promoting and supporting all things fairly traded; hand made creations by artisans (both local and global), and products with an environmental and organic focus- all from communities and/or individuals who struggle with poverty.

ALL products are unique, no two are the same, each are handmade. Every single item comes with it's own 'My Story' tag- detailing where it was made, and by who/which community, as well as details about the community project that is supported by the sale of the item.

The Indigo Lotus store will be operating online, but more excitingly- at markets and festivals primarily up and down the East Coast of Australia.

Items for sale will be updated and uploaded in Albums every Monday. Periodic sales, charity auctions, freebies and giveaways- as well as updates on locations for markets stalls will all be posted, so keep a watchful eye out.

Payments for online sales is via Direct Deposit (details sent upon purchase). Buyer to pay for postage unless otherwise stated, and goods will be sent once payment received. Lay-by available in most cases.

Products will include (but by no means be limited to) - multicultural early childhood handcrafted resources, Thai artisan handicrafts, Balinese artisan handicrafts, Peruvian jewellery, Nepali artisan handicrafts, Indian artisan handicrafts, South Pacific Islander artisan jewellery, vibrant home decor, quirky recycled gifts, handmade paper and gift cards, richly hand embroidered fashion accessories, herbal tea blends, herb/spice cooking blends, handmade soaps and candles, handmade aromatherapy blends, handmade incenses, much much more...

*** The Indigo Girl travels far and wide, free and wild, on the roads less traveled. Along her journey she collects curios which fascinate, teach and mystify- from colourful Arabian bazaars, dusty Oriental roadside stalls, Tribal trading circles, midnight fairground folk, fellow gypsy travellers, misty mountaintop markets, traders floating on canoes, and all in between. All fairly traded, all made with love. All these fascinating and enchanting curiosities, each with their own tale to tell- now offered to you, to take with you on your journey, wherever it may lead. ***
