Whitsunday Escape is the biggest bareboat charter boat company specialising in skipper yourself charters. The guests rent the boat and skipper/drive the boats themselves without the assistance of a professional skipper or crew. The boats are fully self-contained.

With its countless anchorages, deserted beaches, pristine coral reefs, and island resorts that welcome visiting boats the Whitsunday Island group is one of the finest cruising destinations in the world.

The Whitsunday Escape charter base is located at Abell Point Marina Airlie Beach on the Queensland Coast, approximately halfway between Brisbane and Cairns at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. At latitude 20 degrees south it is blessed with tropical temperatures all year and being located within the trade-wind belt, it experiences steady South East winds for most of the year.

The fleet of 39 boats consists of Power Cruisers, Power Catamarans, Sailing Catamarans and Sailing Yachts. They range in size from 33 to 50 ft, are valued from $250,000 to $950,000 and some can accommodate up to 12 people.

Once the crew stock the boat and the skipper and crew are briefed, the charterers are free to explore the 74 Whitsunday Islands at their own pace, based on their interests. The average Whitsunday sailing trip is seven to ten nights and three-week holidays are not uncommon.
