Before having a child, my husband and I used to travel often, travel was an important part of our identities…. We first met each other on the other side of the world, during an extended working holiday, and got married in a Scottish castle to begin our story the way we intended to continue – to live a life full of adventures. Our plan was to continue having these amazing travel experiences, and never settling for a ‘normal’ life. We moved back to Australia, and eventually started a family, and then somehow our lives started to become so normal. Don’t get me wrong, I value the normality and the healthy routines we have set up for our child, yet I’ve started to realise that life was beginning to own us, instead of us going out there and creating the life we intended.
