Shiatsu is a Japanese form of acupressure based on traditional Chinese medicine. Shiatsu means finger pressure. The application of pressure with thumbs, palms, knees etc. to the energy pathways throughout the body (the same pathways or meridians used in acupuncture) encourages greater harmony of energy and sense of well being, better circulation, flexibility and postural integrity.Shiatsu is given on a futon on the floor with the client wearing loose, comfortable clothing.
