The Search From Within Counselling Services

When faced with personal crisis and life issues, we can often become to focused on what we believe is the problem or cause of the problem and then seek to remove this problem so we can get back to normal life. These experiences however, often change us or remain with us in some way, whether we are aware of it or not.

As a Transpersonal Counsellor, I provide a form of counselling practice that involves a number of unique methods to discover not only the known parts of yourself or CONSCIOUS parts, but also the unknown or UNCONSCIOUS parts as well.
By utilizing these methods to discover how you can understand yourself better, is what makes Transpersonal Counselling different from other forms of counselling techniques.

My counselling techniques rely heavily on the work of Carl Rodgers who believed that the therapist and the client are equal partners, rather than an expert treating a patient.
Client or person centered therapy operates according to three basic principles that reflect the attitude of the therapist towards the client:
1) The therapist is Congruent (honest, genuine and you get to see the real me, not a façade) towards the client.
2) The therapist provides the client with unconditional positive regard. This means that I will accept you as you are in what ever form you are.
3) The therapist shows empathetic understanding towards the client. This means that my goal is to understand how it truly feels to be in “your” world without trying to analyze or judge it. Then we can both truly blossom and grow together.

By taking responsibility for our OWN part in our lives, we can become more self directed and better equipped with useful resources to address these issues in the future.
