The Mill Rehearsal Space

Here is a quick history lesson.

In the mid 70's, The Old Paper Mill, among other things, served as a music haven for budding musicians all hailing from Geelong.
Artists who had come together to form bands such as Shadowfax, Red House Roll Band, 20th Century, Lizard, and Myrum Forum to name just a few.
Rooms filled with musicians (and at times roadies, sound and lighting guys) who rehearsed on a nightly basis who knew each other, who watched each other grow, fail, succeed, change line-ups, and the list could go on.
Music that was being prepared for a live audience, churned out through years that were truly memorable, exciting and inspiring for Geelong musicians and what was then a thriving Music Scene. But that was then.

Fast forward 45 years to today where I have come full circle.

Back to the mill again filling one of her rooms with a set of Drums, an insatiable passion, and a dream for the future. The dream, or more so the vision for the room is to build a space where musicians can rehearse, record, hang out and play some music. A place for all ages and all levels. A place for musicians and friends alike that provides a balance between rehearsal days and times to just hang out meet some new peeps and jam out on a few tunes. In short a musician's hang out. A place where all you need to do is walk in with your instrument, find an amp, plug in an play. A special place made special through the artists and friends who help to add to the magical atmosphere already created by the presence of high blue stone walls supporting a structure that was built in a time when things were made to last.

So our doors are open, and the invite made.
We are ready and waiting so come have a play.
