The Long Road Bar & Eatery

The Long Road Bar & Eatery is the newest venue to hit New Farm, with honest European fare, fine wines and decadent cocktails all in a relaxed deck setting. Situated in a revamped workers cottage in the heart of bustling Brunswick Street, The Long Road focuses it’s energy into sourcing fresh, seasonal produce and (using traditional and contemporary crafts) delivers a sophisticated menu that believes in the simplicity of peasant food that can be shared and enjoyed with friends. Heading the kitchen team is Phoebe Mille. Phoebe has just arrived back in Australia after 5 years training under Maria Jose in the prestigious Le Chateau Briand & Mary Celeste in Paris. Her passion for fresh locally sourced produce really comes out in the earthy fine dining style she has created and is pushing the boundaries to defy tradition by using her French trained techniques and creating a modern twist.

The Queenslander cottage itself has been reproduced to feel luxurious and comfortable inside – dimly lit, with fabrics, beautiful timbers and a communal table that encourages neighbourly interaction and is perfect for small functions, intimate degustation’s and master classes.

Outside, an open deck that brings a garden vibe that overlooks bustling Brunswick Street. Designed for casual dining and drinks, an afternoon could easily drift into the evening here, with a shady aspect in the hot summer Queensland afternoons.
