The Ark

The Ark is a beach side cafe with a difference.

Situated in Norah Head on the Central Coast next to the iconic Norah Head Light House. The Ark is a social enterprise with much of it's profits going back into the charitable side of the cafe The Welcome to Paradise Foundation. The foundation supports The Living Center in Madagascar, Aid workers in South Sudan and many local initiatives.

We specialize in fresh tantalizing food made by our team of chefs and Campos coffee. But not only that The Ark stocks a great range of ethically sourced men's and ladies clothing, gifts and home wares and hand shaped surfboards by owner and local shaper Christian M Laing. Join us for breakfast or a gourmet lunch before a walk along the beach.


The café features live music and art by some incredibly talented locals. The Ark is also home to many events hosted by Circle Movement a movement of woman making the world a better place. Events include a Social Justice Book Club, inspiring speakers and work shops. The cafe also gives opportunity through the foundation to volunteer abroad.


Take a short walk along the headlands through the bush and you will arrive at the Lighthouse. Just below us, down the stairs is the rock pool and Wyong Shires only boat ramp into the sea. It's a great spot for snorkelling and fishing.



Directly across from the café is a wonderful park and picnic area. Soldiers Beach is directly down the road which is known for its great surf.
