More about Tanglewood Farm

Situated at Kootingal, only 15 minutes north-east of Tamworth, Tanglewood Farm provides a full compliment of services for the Thoroughbred breeder and also care & Agistment for all breeds of horses.

They have Stallions of distinct quality and provide broodmare / foaling care & Agistment for all breeds of horses.

Tanglewood Farm has two Thoroughbred stallions, Dixie Prospect & Canny Show.

The Thoroughbreds are headed by the imported "Dixie Prospect" (USA)- 2006 - who is the only sire-son of the Champion "Dixie Union" standing in Australia.
Dixie Prospect (USA)-2006- stands at a fee of $3,850. His sire, the Champion "Dixie Union" died prematurely at age 10 at Lane’s End Farm, Kentucky USA in July 2010. He stood at a fee of $35,000.
Dixie Prospect (Dixie Union – Tabheej by Mujtahid) is one of over 50 stakes winners by Dixie Union.
A sprinter with stamina, Dixie Prospect was restricted to nine starts and retired early due to injury. From that limited opportunity he had 3 wins and a 4th in a G3, all on turf. His wins included the prestigeous King Charles II Stakes -Listed- (1400m) at Newmarket, England.

Their other Thoroughbred Stallion is "Canny Show", which is being applauded as the most likely sire to continue the highly successful dynasty established by Star Kingdom through the Champion Canny Lad.

The Champion G1 performer and winner of the STC Golden Slipper, Canny Lad died in June 2014. He commanded a Fee of $16,500. To date, his progeny earnings have exceeded $53 mil with over 64% winners to runners. His progeny included multiple G1 winners Republic Lass (earnings $1,530,000) and He's No Pie Eater (earnings $720,000).
The colt He's No Pie Eater unfortunately died from a freak accident while in training at age of only 3. From only 16 starts he won 10 races of which 2 were Group 1 events.

However, fortunately, he has a full-brother in Canny Show and he has the bloodline credentals to fulfil the proposed stud career of his brother.
Unraced due to injury, Canny Show is the best bred sire-son of Canny Lad and is only 4th removed from the lengendry Star Kingdom. As such, Canny Show has the closest sire linebreeding to Star Kingdom in Australia. His 2014 fee is a modest $3,300.
