In 1985 i fell 10 meters from a tree, and suffered a bulging disc, so i decided to try and make a living taking pictures of the local Anglesea Surfers, and the scenery along the Ocean Road. The main problem was i could not swim very well. My first effort at taking a photo from the water ended up in disaster, i lost the fins and almost drown, that would happen quite frequently in the future. Any way to cut a long story short, i met a Surfer from WA Mark Clift, and he let me work at taking shots of him in the water, in fact my first ever photograph published was of Mark in Tracks magazine in 1985. So that was the start of my journey, so on this page i will show pics of Surfers from Torquay to Port Campbell. Some of the places i photographed i renamed at the time to keep the price tag on my head at a reasonable level, as i don't think Surf Photographers were appreciated along the Ocean Road in those years! But i managed to come out the other end in one piece So here is that history..
