Bowen Therapy was developed by an Australian, Tom Bowen, in the 1950s.
Suitable for all ages, from newborns to the elderly, Bowen Therapy works on the body's fascia, also known as connective tissue.
Fascia can become 'injured' whether it be through physical or emotional injury or illness. When this occurs it can become “dehydrated” or “glued” causing an imbalance to occur preventing normal functioning of the body.
Bowen sessions involve the practitioner performing procedures each consisting of several sets of moves. During these moves the practitioner pauses to enable the body to respond and start the self-healing process.
Most clients respond within 3-4 sessions with some results occurring immediately. However, just like your car, your body needs regular maintenance to ensure optimal health and regular 'tune-ups' are recommended.
