Sparrow Workshops

Sparrow Workshops was birthed out of my love for kids, creativity, learning and nature so I aim to provide a wondrous learning experience which leaves each child motivated to learn more and extend their imagination even when they get home!

My greatest joy is to hear from parents that their little darling has gone home after a workshop and continued the imaginative role-play, adopted new language and understanding or is simply inspired to create new things stemming from idea's learnt at a Sparrow Workshop! :) :)

In a nut shell, Sparrow Workshop's are 6-10 creative, hands-on activities based on a picture book ranging from art, craft, drama, writing, poetry and mathematics!

I am available between 3:30-5:30pm, Monday to Thursdays and I choose a beautiful location in Alstonville whether it be a stream, a park, a field etc depending on what coincides with the book we are using as inspiration!

A little about myself: I have been a primary school teacher for 13 years and have recently taken on casual work so I could start Sparrow Workshop's and dapple in the creative side of myself and my little sparrow's that come along to the workshops! (I have also taught in Sumatra, Korea and Japan and have a Cert IV in TESOL!)

These workshops are especially good for little one's that need to be stimulated creatively and who sometime's find it hard to achieve this at school!

Sparrow Workshop's also give parents the opportunity to choose who their child is learning with enabling a highly motivating and fun environment for their learning! Helping them to fly- that's my motto! :)

Sooooooo....... if you are looking to book a Sparrow Workshop here are a few things you will love to know:

~ Specials: From now to Christmas if you're child come's with 4 friends, your child comes FREE!!!

~Holiday Fun: Sparrow Workshops will be holding special events out of the 3:30-5:30 time frame just for the holidays! Special events include, 'Christmas Around the World,' 'Boat building competition,' 'Van Gogh and his sunflowers,' and I can also do specialised themes for your group! :) Let me know a time that suits you and I will try and work around it! :)

~Booking Option 1) Book as a group
This allows the parent to choose who their child learns with and means that we can be more flexible for the needs of the group e.g.: They may have a special hobby or theme that they LOVE like horses etc.

~Booking Option 2) Book as an individual
This allows parents to quickly book without gathering other people together for the workshop! :)

~ Book through Facebook messenger & clicking the 'attending' the event button, so I can organise the correct number of resources

~Price: $20 per child

~Time: In the school term I am available 3:30-5:30pm for bookings! On holidays we can work together as times are flexible!

~Age Groupings: It is best if a group consists of children around the same age which is why as a general rule I have said that groups are 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 age brackets but this is flexible depending on the child and their need for extension or guidance.

~NOTE: In 2016 I will be only taking minimum 6 kiddies (maximum 10), as the whole 'sherbang' from start to finish is 3 hours planning, gathering resources and teaching (even though the workshop is only 1 hour)!

~MOST IMPORTANT NOTE :) You're child is so unique and so special and I would be honoured to have a part to play in teaching them! :)
