SoundWood and Sharp Steve

SoundWood, proudly handcrafted in Booborowie SA. Specialising in custom home speakers, custom cabinets, flat pack assembly and timber furniture repairs. Also creating beautiful timber objects for your enjoyment. We look to source timber with a history or a story to share. The Redgum we are currently working with comes from a massive tree that was felled by a storm in the Eden Valley in 2012. The tree was probably older than European settlement in Australia. We are also utilising pine shelving that was salvaged from the safe of the former Bank of Adelaide in Booborowie. The pine shelving had been in the safe since its construction in 1914 and has probably held many hundreds of thousands of dollars. The eucalyptus logs that are being transformed into candle holders and trinket boxes come from a storm damaged tree in Burra. The Jarrah that is being made into some gorgeous candle holders is floor tiles used in parquetry floors in some of our most gracious old public buildings. Each piece has a story to tell....
