I'm Matthew Jenkins...

I've been a professional recording engineer for more than a fifteen years and have worked with so many bands and artists that I can't possible remember them all.

Notable local credits include the Stems, Richard Lane (the Stems), Blackmilk, The City Watch, Black Mavrick, Ease, The Bloods, The Long Strides, Kim McDonald... I have also recorded vocals with several top Jamaican artists including Lady Saw and Bushman.

I hold an Honours qualification in Sound and Radio from Murdoch University and am a qualified Secondary Media teacher. I teach Music Technology at upper school level. I'm also a reasonably accomplished musician and songwriter/arranger, with vast experience and knowledge that I can bring to your projects. I have experience with recording contracts and received airplay around the world.

My forte is producing real music. My knowledge of popular music is deep. However, if raw rock, blues, punk, soul, traditional reggae, old school dub and weird-ass psych is your calling... I could be your solution.

My studio is a purpose built space (65sqm) with high ceilings, a floating wooden floor and is superbly acoustically treated. There are two amp isolation booths - track a band live, or lay beds with little or no bleed onto the drums and be face to face with each other. If you can 'find' or generate a standing wave here, I will personally make you a Mojito. Needless to say... the drum sounds are amazing.

My recording gear is kinda left field, as is the mic selection. All sound amazing. I won't bore you with the details. A decent selection of instruments, amps, effects, percussion and a Gretsch 90s Maple kit are on hand.
