More about Rural Information Centre (RIC)

The Rural Information Centre is an initiative supported by Arts Out West and the NSW Department of Industry and Investment to help visitors capture and preserve the spirit of the bush and to learn about rural living.

The RIC will offer a permanent and ever changing collection of information and displays spanning ‘the arts’ to the latest in farming techniques, technologies and lifestyle topics.

Our exhibitors will bring to you in the “The Arts and All Things Rural” exhibition creative and innovative displays that will engage, inform and inspire their audience.

Whether you are an art enthusiast, farmer, resident of the Bathurst region and beyond or an overseas visitor there will be something for you to enjoy.

The RIC is located in the historical gold mining village of Sofala, one of the most visited heritage towns across Australia. Sofala is also well known as an artist destination and for its fine wool production.

Housed in the former Court House/Hospital the RIC is open seven days a week (except Christmas Day) from 10.00am – 4.00pm.
