RP Candles & Gifts

Just imagine it. Laying back in a nice warm bath, your favourite music playing softly, the soft glow of candles flickering around you and that waft of your favourite fragrance in the air. Some nights after a long hard day, my bathtime really made it all worth while.

I have loved candles all my life. Between the soft glow of the flickering flame and the pleasing fragrances as it wafts around me, I find my senses tingling every time I light one. The problem has always been that it can become very expensive to keep up a supply of good quality candles. Between the big name retailers and party plan products, I had spent thousands of dollars on candles and accessories over the years. So it was time for a change.

In December 2011, I decided I would try making my own candles while I was on my Christmas break. Once I realised how much I enjoyed making them and by making them myself, I knew exactly what was in them, I decided that this was definitely the way to go. Family and friends soon discovered that I was making my own and loved the fragrances I had selected. So much so that they wanted to buy all my stocks. Who was I to say no? It wasn't long before friends interstate (in the Riverland region of SA) joined in. I now catch up with one of them (hi Nic) every few months in Horsham and deliver a carload to her for distrinution.

2013 has been a big year for me. I have grown to the point where I needed to register as a business and not only adding new products (accessories and gift lines) to the mix but also selling at Markets. I now do the Longwarry CFA Market regularly and will be trying out a few more in the next few months.

Where this is heading is anyone's guess but I know one thing for sure. I'm never going to run out of good candles again.
