BOWEN THERAPY
Bowen therapy is a series of cross-fibre moves on the fascia that have a gentle but deep effect on the muscles, tendons and ligaments. These moves facilitate the healing process and improve injuries, both acute and chronic. It encourages better circulation and hydration of the connective tissue, which eliminates toxins and encourages repair. Bowen Therapy can restore the balance of energy in a body and regulate the tissue physiology, allowing the body to heal naturally. Bowen therapy also has a major effect on the skeletal system, organs, digestion and pressure points.

FLOWER ESSENCES
Flower essences are natural health elixirs derived from flowers. They come from nature and have proven to be health generating in many areas of life including physical, mental and spiritual.

PHOTONIC RED LIGHT THERAPY
Photonic therapy is an advanced form of traditional complimentary medicine using light to stimulate recognised acupuncture points. Where acupuncture uses needles, Photonic therapy uses no needles as horses can find this invasive, frightening and sometimes even painful. Advanced Photonic Therapy involves safe, low frequency red light (not laser) which supports the healing of conditions and injuries in animals.

Photonic red light therapy can be used in may situations for example-

REIKI

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle, yet powerful method of healing. Reiki energy, (often described as `universal life energy' or `spiritual energy') is accessed by the practitioner during a treatment. It enhances the body’s natural healing ability and promotes wellbeing.
Reiki treatment stands on its own as a healing practice and is also safely used to support orthodox and complementary medicine. Reiki doesn’t interfere with or diminish the intended effects of other health or medical practices.
This is also a great tool to use on horses when they are in a great amount of pain or stress and are reluctant to allow treatment. Usually after a small Reiki session they will allow other treatments to begin.

EQUINE POSITIONAL RELEASE

Equine Positional Release (EPR) is a manual therapy based on the principles of non-force and movement away from pain to achieve joint stabilisation, soft tissue repair and postural re-education. EPR is used with the horse and rider. EPR is a wholistic health care fostering sustainable horse-human partnerships.
EPR is adapted from Ortho-Bionomy: an innovative approach to positional release techniques incorporating the mechanism of self-correction, the body’s natural ability to heal. EPR combines the principles found in Homoeopathy (like cures like; less is more) and non-violent horse handling with manual positional release techniques to achieve structural alignment and soundness.

EPR uses movement and body position to stimulate a natural reflex found in muscles and joints. This reflexive ability is part of the nervous system and is called proprioception. It is initiated by touch, movement and positioning of the body. When the body is moved into a comfortable position away from pain or discomfort, the natural response is for the body to relax and re-balance. This in turn helps muscles relax and return to their normal tone, joints to return to alignment, blood circulation and nerve supply to improve pain and tension and to reduce recovery from performance, injury and illness.

EPR provides a longer-acting release for horses. EPR uses relaxation and positioning to affect
the nervous system of the horse. This allows for mobility and looseness, affecting muscle
memory and benefiting mental focus. Once the horse feels the position they
look for it on their own and re-create a pain-free, supple state.
