Proserpine Public Kindergarten

Proserpine Public Kindergarten is a friendly community run kindergarten affiliated with "The Lady Gowrie". The kindergarten program has two groups running, Red Group - Monday and Tuesday 8am- 3:40pm and Blue Group - alternate Wednesdays, Thursday and Friday 8:30am - 2:40pm.

Our new Kindergarten building was built in recent years, as we said good bye to our older 2 story building. We now have an exciting, inviting and more user friendly Kindergarten. Our new building has all the essentials, including an office, laundry, kitchen, portioned off children's toilet, adult toilets and last but not least a spacious verandah. This well-loved verandah looks over our huge grassed playing area. Here the activities are plentiful! We have a huge sand pit full of toys, play ground with slide, a bike track, a fairy garden, a vegetable garden, a pretend play area, a musical noise area and last but not least a Chicken coop with active laying 'chooks' with the classroom and office located upstairs, We also create different outside activities based on the children's current interests.

Our classroom is also a great learning space. The children have access to a small library, arts and crafts, a science area and 'changing' pretend play area based on children's interest. In recent times this area has been a supermarket, hair dressers and home corner.
