I love the creativity involved in upcycling furniture. It’s exciting to find an old piece of furniture and brainstorm ideas to turn it into something stunning. I anticipate how that once old unwanted piece will become a well-loved one by my prospective client- for many years to come.

With a rise in imported low-grade furniture, manufactured under contentious ethical conditions, and using environmentally unfriendly materials: it motivates me to make it part of my business mission to source good quality used furniture, and to use premium quality paints and other materials. I also mostly use paints such as milk and chalk paint which have low to no VOC (volatile organic compound) level so they are both better for the environment as well as for our general health.

Environmental concerns are a global issue and while more people have become environmentally conscientious, still the waste that goes into landfills has increased over the decades. Upcycling furniture businesses see themselves as part of a solution to this problem and have been rewarded by the growing demand.
