Options 4 Health - Remedial Massage

Options 4 Health was established in March 2000 to assist folks in the comfort of their own homes, offices and clinic with remedial massage & therapies.

For 15 years Maria has been a referral only based therapist never advertising until just at the end of Dec 2015 creating this Facebook page purely for her loyal long term clients and their families as well as new clients.

Maria is happily adding on new treatments in 2016 and is also setting up a small quiet clinic in Balmoral where a 1Hr treatments are indeed a full 1 or 2 Hr treatment.

Maria's background is as a Care provider in Qld Gov working for those with intellectually handicaps and challenging behaviours which lead to massage calming down agitations for some as well as food becoming more clean from chemicals to reduce behaviours. Clients age bracket ranged from teenagers thru to the elderly. It was an occupation Maria truly loved and grew from as a young 19y.o.

Next travelling and working overseas included massaging travellers along the way. In 1998 after living in East Africa for 6 months Maria started studying full time for a year and working full time in London a wonderful therapy called Reflexology under the world famous and very talented Renee' Tanner. http://www.intfedreflexologists.org/nproducts.htm Was such a blessing to have her as a teacher and mentor.

On return to Australia after 3 years end of 1999 Maria attempted to get Reflexology going in Brisbane however massage was requested which then lead to full time study at AIAS in Brisbane for 2 1/2years and also joining the massage association AAMT.

Massage took off quickly for Maria as she offered a mobile service in Brisbane, Ipswich, Rosewood including Limestone Natural Therapies clinic for 2 years working along side Chiropractors, and the Government to massage clients with intellectual disabilities including high level challenging behaviours at Wacol and in Ipswich.

Maria also became very fond of massaging the elderly including a former client many years ago who passed away due to cancer and who still has a special place in her heart to this day.

Treating that beautiful soul & his wife through his chemo and including dying days was the inspiration in 2002 to seek out and offer voluntary massage at http://www.ccs.org.au childhood cancer support Herston.

Maria's idea came to life thanks to the co-ordinator at the time who also was a Vipassana meditator. So for 2 years Maria did volunteer her skills massaging on children being treated for cancer and their families staying. Was the most humbling, rewarding experience.

Maria's massaging work has covered athletes (body builders, swimmers, triathletes, weekend warriors, cyclists, dancers) the corporate world i.e.. working at Parsons Brinkerhoff Engineering as their in house therapist for 7 years, to the frail, the young, insurance horses, dogs, children and of course people like yourself. :)

Maria's career as a remedial therapist is extensive and still 16 years on she still Loves assisting the human body all ages and abilities & animal bodies :) to move freely. If anything is beyond her expertise then Maria has a well established very experienced wonderful referral team at hand.

Maria's clients are all long term, very loyal and she loves them all very much and is ever so grateful for their trust in helping them feel better.
