How did you get into real estate?

After finishing my university degree at Bond University my goal was to join the Corporate world which involved working in London, Brisbane and Sydney through companies including UBS, Transfield Services and Rabobank. We (my now wife and I) made a decision to return home to explore opportunities within the family business and we haven’t looked back since. I feel privileged to join such a well recognised brand and to learn from the best in the business. It didn’t hurt that mum was the boss to get my foot in the door as well.

How long have you lived and worked on the GC?

I was fortunate to grow up on the Gold Coast and have experienced firsthand the lifestyle, education and growth that the city has undergone. After living away for several years, it was an easy decision when deciding where we would base ourselves to raise a family. We have now been back on the coast for seven years and look forward to many exciting opportunities ahead both personally and professionally.

What appeals to you about selling real estate on the Gold Coast?

Real Estate is a very rewarding, my day is versatile and our clients are very interesting and diverse. There is a never dull moment, my next call could be a listing opportunity or a potential sale. It is a privilege to represent many of the Gold Coasts best homes for clients who are often leaders in their respective fields.

What are your strengths or attributes?

I would say my strengths are that I’m personable, experienced and detail oriented. Having learned directly from Lucy I am pedantic about the right marketing materials to best promote the property, things have to be just right to create the best first impression. Over years I have refined my negotiation skills with many complicated sales, this combined with my extensive local market knowledge and communication skills ensure I listen carefully to my clients needs and provide a tailored service to suit.

What other expertise do you bring to Lucy Cole – do you have other skills or forte to add value to clients?

Having lived on the Gold Coast most of my life, I have extensive local market knowledge that I’m happy to share with buyers and sellers alike, this is particularly valuable when negotiating and guiding interstate and overseas buyers that may not be aware of some of the benefits and drawbacks within particular locations, aspects & frontages.

How do you spend your down time? What are your interests?

Downtime is rare, however I look forward to spending time with family and friends, I will often day trip with the family to Byron Bay which is an easy getaway just 45 minutes drive and a beautiful place to visit. My regular routine includes morning run by the beach or hitting the gym, coffee from Ferry Road Markets and often catching up with friends at somewhere new and fun for a bite to eat & where the kids can have a play!

What are the best aspects of living on the GC?

The lifestyle and weather, it is a great place to live! I look forward to waking up early for a run, surf or swim, enjoying the cosmopolitan restaurants and cafes, the positive energy and outlook of locals and holiday makers is refreshing!
