Newcastle Basketball

The BANL owns and operates a six-court complex at Broadmeadow, the 'nerve-centre' of sport in the Hunter, including a Main Court with a seating capacity of 1,800 for showpiece events. In excess of 6,000 people use our complex each week - over 300,000 per year.

Learn to Play, Rookies, Holiday Clinics, Junior Club and Senior Social Competitions are conducted 49 weeks per year for players aged 6 and above.

The Stadium is used for a variety of indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, floorball, netball and futsal (indoor soccer) and hosts major local, state and national touraments in a variety of sports.

The Newcastle Hunters are the representative team of Newcastle Basketball with junior teams competing in a regional Central Junior League (CJL) along with the opportunity to progress to State and National Championships.

Our senior teams play in a NSW statewide competition known as the Waratah Australian Basketball League (WABL). We have teams that compete in all three WABL divisions: Championship, State and Youth (U/20).
