Muswellbrook Amateur Theatrical Society Inc.

MATS - Muswellbrook Amateur Theatrical Society Inc has been a major part of the Muswellbrook community since 1960 when Muswellbrook Choral Society and Upper Hunter Orchestral Society amalgamated to form Muswellbrook Musical Society. The Society took it's current name in 1976 due to the ever increasing diversification of the Society's activities in all forms of theatre.

MATS focus is to nurture and showcase local talent in all area of theatre from performance to design and technical.

The society meets the first Monday of every month at the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music, Campbell’s Corner Muswellbrook. Meetings commence at 7pm.

Timeline of MATS

1960 - Muswellbrook Choral Society and Upper Hunter Orchestral Society perform a choral and orchestral concert on 19th September. A second concert is performed on 29th November under the name of Muswellbrook Musical Society
1961 - Three choral and orchestral concerts
1962 - ‘Trial by Jury’
1963 - ‘Salad Days’ - in partnership with Muswellbrook Dramatic Society
1964 - ‘Tulip Time' - in partnership with Muswellbrook Dramatic Society
