Mookah

From humble beginnings in 2009 of 2 sisters creating and making for their own label in a garage at home, and selling at small country markets, the business has grown to now having two bricks and mortar stores, an e-com store and a presence at selected designer markets around the country.

While the mookah label is represented in each of the stores, the stores have become more of a ‘lifestyle’ store, with the addition of a collection of clothing, homewares, accessories, gifts, books, and body products that complement the mookah brand.

The intention with each of the retail stores was to create a space that other people enjoy spending time in as much as we do, filled with lots of beautiful products to browse and friendly, helpful staff. An important part of the role of our team is to help share our knowledge of the products and the story behind the brands in our stores, to help customers make meaningful purchases.

The business is a supporter of slow fashion; a deliberate choice to purchase better quality items less often, which is also why we have a general focus on ‘handmade’ items within our stores. In terms of fashion, our aim is to focus on pieces that are simple and stylish, but functional, and suitable for comfortable every day wear.

Somewhere along the journey we’ve been lucky enough to have a group of other likeminded individuals join our team, who also share our passion for design and creativity, love what they do, and being a part of our creative environment. For this we feel blessed.
