Min Min Encounter & Boulia Visitor Information Centre

The Mystery of the Min Min Lights is brought to life in this fantastic centre in a 45 minute production about the phenomenon that has been sighted by travellers for over 100 years. Inside the Min Min Encounter you will find a wealth of local knowledge from staff and can browse through the gifts and souvenirs.
When store keeper James Edward Jones built the Stone house in 1888 little did he know that it would become one of Boulia’s most treasured tourist destinations. The house was home to the Jones family up until the early 1970’s when the house was then turned over to the Boulia Shire Council. A wealth of Boulia’s history is held inside the walls of this great home and over the years more buildings have been added to house the many artefacts left behind by our fore fathers. The museum is also home to a fantastic fossil exhibit, you can see what Boulia would have looked like over 100 million years ago as part of the Inland Sea.
