Messy Benches

Hi! My name is Marina and welcome to Messy Benches. Here at Messy Benches we would like to share with you some of our favourite family recipes and the stories that come along with them.

In December 2012, pregnant with our first son, I convinced my husband Craig that we should invest in a Thermomix. In a bid to prove its capabilities (and price tag) I created Thermomix 365 Challenge – to make 365 different Thermomix recipes in 365 days. Over the next year my passion for cooking grew and I got a great kick out of sharing the recipes with all my Facebook followers.

My Breakfast Pina Colada has featured as a recipe of the day on the Thermomix Recipe Community and the staff at Thermomix Australia made my Popcorn Rocky Road for their Christmas in July staff party. The most popular recipe however was the Satay Chicken Noodle Salad.

Shortly after the Challenge I created Messy Benches with the aim of expanding the recipe bank. For the last 12 months I have been back working full time and as a result our kitchen benches have become less messy. Fortunately in January 2017 Craig decided he’d like to become involved in the world of food blogging and help me out. He’s a big barbecue fan so you can expect to see a lot more recipes out of his WeberQ and Weber Smokey Mountain.

We’re excited to share with you our home cooked meals and their recipes. We’re not chefs, nor do we proclaim to be so if you have and suggestions or comments regarding the recipes or techniques we’d love to hear them!
