Founded in 1948 by Roderick J. W. Forbes and established in Adelaide, South Australia, our founder's vision of a high quality equipment and service provider are still fundamental in the formation of our business principles today.

In the first decades after formation, the Forbes Group of Companies either manufactured or marketed a wide range of agricultural, industrial and workshop products that included 32 volt generating equipment, wind powered generators, water pumping units, hydraulic equipment, cutting, forming and grinding machinery, stationary engines, batteries and paint.

The Forbes Group of Companies has significantly evolved over many years and has acquired a number of other organisations that have been fundamental in supporting our continuing growth. Those acquisitions have included W&M Engineering in 1992 who manufactured, installed and serviced general purpose pressure vessels and the Maxitherm steam boiler range in South Australia, Hunt Boilers in 2002 who designed, manufactured, installed and serviced an extensive range of steam and hot water boilers principally at that time in Victoria and New South Wales, and more recently the formation of a Joint Venture with PWS Boilers in Queensland now trading as PWS Hunt Boilers, to add further focus to our extensive range of products and services in that market region.

The Forbes Group of Companies, now with its principle trading entity Hunt Boilers, remains 100% Australian owned.

Today we provide a comprehensive range of products and services throughout Australia to the pressure equipment industry, from our branches and other facilities in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

Our capabilities include the full design, development, production, sales, installation, inspection and service associated with a wide range of products which can typically be offered manufactured in Australia or from one of our International facilities.

Our current product range includes those from Hunt Boilers such as the ALFAREL vertical tubeless steam boilers, WT SERIES D-type water tube steam boilers, FORBES-BRYAN ‘flexible’ water tube steam boilers, TNS fire tube horizontal steam boilers, TN-AR reverse flame horizontal hot water boilers, ENVIROPAK condensing boilers, AIRFLOW dilution and flue boost fans, FORBES pressure vessels and the PROAIR® range of air compressor units. In addition we are also the sole Australasian distributor for FULTON products including the J-Series vertical tubeless steam boilers, Advantage condensing boilers, Compack electric steam boilers, and FT thermal oil heaters.

With a strong focus on GREEN ENERGY, we offer a wide variety of more efficient fuel reducing solutions for heating water and burning various types of fuel.
