Herbert's Bakery-Cafe

Herbert's bakery-Cafe is the result of over one hundred years of history in the baking industry, located in the picturesque town of Casterton this bakery has tourists dropping in from all over the country on the recommendation of fellow travellers.

Set amongst rolling hillsides and redgum flat country, Casterton is a 45minute drive from Hamilton, Mount Gambier and Coonawarra. Thus, making Herbert's bakery-Cafe the perfect place for lunch on the run, or a long relaxing sit down meal.

With an extensive range of pastries in the pie cabinet, the choice is mind boggling, from a simple old favourite like the sausage roll, the range extends to gourmet chicken pasties and pies using real chicken breast fillets, or fetta and spinach and ricotta and asparagus pastry rolls for those that prefer no meat, and of course the range of meat pies is too long to list, suffice to say they are all yummy.

Catering to the sweet tooth, with our famous vanilla slices and beestings we also have a wide variety of cakes, biscuits, pastries, doughnuts, buns, muffins and slices. Or for those with a bent for gourmet, try our range of top shelf cakes, be it a simple yet delicious lemon curd tart or an extravagant black forest gateau.
Herbert's bakery-cafe aim to bring a little bit of the world famous Acland street St Kilda to the country, and it is all made in house!

With seating for approximately fifty people in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere Herbert's bakery caters for the lone traveller or pre arranged coach tours..
