We conceive, we make and then we communicate. We use a prototyping methodology as the foundation of all our projects; using film, digital, print and technology as our toolbox to create meaningful experiences.

Curiosity drives everything we do and experimentation is at the heart of our offering. We’re constantly evolving and our toolkit is ever-changing. We’re not platform exclusive.

Grumpy Sailor was founded by James Boyce in 2012 and has spent the last couple of years working within Google Sydney’s Creative Lab, collaborating with local and international partners that include The Sydney Opera House, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Tellart and The Powerhouse Museum.

Grumpy Sailor brings with it a pool of talented staff and collaborators. Our capable and multi-skilled crew can do many things including design, development, production, creative direction, idea generation and insanely cool tech-hacks. If there’s something we can’t do, we find the person who can and invite them to come aboard.

We love to captivate and fascinate and leave behind warm-fuzzy feelings. Oh, and at grumps, we’re anything but grumpy.
