Gizmo Cats

After speaking with other parents of children who went to school with his son, Oscar Naval discovered that he was not alone in noticing that most kids play games with technology but do not understand or appreciate what makes them work. They are users or consumers, but not creators or makers of technology. Rather than kids just playing games (e.g. Minecraft), why not teach them to change the game's virtual world with programming and making external control devices. Gizmo Cats was founded.

Gizmo Cats provides fun "Physical Computing" experiences using gizmos like a Raspberry Pi SBC in order to learn problem solving, collaboration, and invention in order to succeed in today's world of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics).

Physical computing is a creative framework for understanding human beings' relationship to the digital world. It makes creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators, and inventors. Besides, it's everywhere from our homes, cars, payment and ticketing systems, to the Internet of Things, your workplace and your mobile phones; it shapes our everyday experiences. It is not enough to swipe and tap on tablets, computers and iPhones. If you wish to get ahead you need to understand more about "what's under the hood" of the devices we use every day.
