Ghungroo School of Kathak Dance

Smt Sumona Bhattacharya, the Director of Ghungroo School of Dance, is a disciple of Padmashree Vidushi Smt Rani Karnaa Nayak. The dance school was established in 2009 and has so far hosted 5 annual concerts and numerous other performances in prestigious venues such as DeakinEdge auditorium. The objective of the dance school is to teach pure classical style Kathak and ability to dance with live music. Small class sizes are maintained, for both adults and kids. The only dance school in Melbourne where students get to perform on stage in accompaniment to live music, sarod and tabla, performed by some of the seniour most musicians in Melbourne.
