Eidsvold Siltstone" is a mixture of sandstone, siltstone and mudstone, white coloured with streaks of limonite through it. It has a compressive strength of 44.4MPA which makes it not just a landscaping stone but suitable for the construction industry.
The Siltstone was formed during the Mesozoic era, comprising three distinct periods, the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. The Mesozoic era was characterised by the development of mammals, flying reptiles, birds and flowering plants, the appearance and death of the dinosaurs and the age of reptiles. The Mesozoic era began approximately 205 million years ago and is the era that precedes the present.
