Hi and welcome to the world of my creative side.

I have had a camera in my hand for most of my life. I had a great start when I was still at school with my father's fully manual Canon A50. Film was expensive and I had to make every shot count so I learnt a lot quickly.

After school and while at University I bought my first two SLR cameras and enjoyed taken countless photos of events and sports that were happening and I put many of my photos into the University paper.

Then life started, working life that is and with a career in Agriculture I was fortunate to be outdoors most of the time and I usually had a camera with me.

Work kindly bought me my first digital camera in the late 90's that was a very limited brick. So began a journey into the digital realm but apart from family, work and the landscape photographs I wasn't doing too much.

That all changed in 2015 when I invested in my first Digital SLR, Canon of course and 6 lenses. This was really a game changer and I can not believe what I can do with this equipment especially in very low light without flash or tripod and breaking all the "film" rules like shooting directly at the sun.

I also dived into Adobe Lightroom to catalog the nearly 200,000 images that I have and I wanted all my new SLR photographs to be referenced fully. I have held off on learning Photoshop as I'm a bit of purist in that I believe the original image should not need to be changed. I aim to capture what I see.

During 2015 I joined a few groups and started to do more portrait and studio work which I enjoy and was not able to do in the remote areas where I had been living.

My signature work has always been long lens candid shots of people being natural. I used to attend weddings of friends and family and take photographs like this and then get Black and White enlargements and give that as my present. It is entrancing form of photography and is very powerful.

I love landscape work and many other forms including difficult work like photographing kookaburras in flight in the wild.
