Danceworks Sydney

Danceworks Sydney is a leading dance school in the centre of Sydney where students are taught to an elite level. Classes are offered for all levels and ages, including adults.

From 2018 there will be a Full-Time program for students who show potential and are focussed and dedicated to pursuing a career in dance. Danceworks Sydney is partnering with Australian Performing Arts Grammar School to provide a unique and exciting program. Students will be able to attend APGS Monday-Thursday mid morning and Danceworks Sydney from Thursday mid-morning and all day Friday (on top of after school classes). This is especially suitable for students who wish to pursue full-time training without leaving academic school and studying through Distance Education. APGS is a 10min walk away.

Students who dance as a hobby are also more than welcome to join the after school program and benefit from safe dance teaching.

Ballet Contemporary Coaching Repertoire Lyrical RAD Pointe Competitions Exams Jazz Character classes are offered.

Students have the opportunity to sit for exams each year and perform in the end of year concert on stage.

Full-Time Program:
A goal oriented program focussing on clean technique, developing strength and artistry, preventing injury, and enabling rapid progression within an encouraging environment.

Students wanting to make a career as a professional dancer are offered in depth coaching tailored to prepare them for auditions for major international dance schools/companies.

Part Full-Time:
In collaboration with APGS students can attend academic school 3.5 days and Danceworks Sydney 1.5 days per week, in addition to after school classes

Transition 10-14yrs:
For students wanting to further their dance training there is an after school program 4 days per week covering Open Class, Pointe, Progressing Ballet Technique, Repertoire, Stretch & Strengthening

Children:
Elite dance training with specific focus on safe dance practice, technique and performance.

Adults:
On two evenings per week there are adult ballet classes at Beginner and Intermediate level. Traditionally dance was something only children learnt - not anymore. It’s never too late to learn to dance!
