Karina Doig is an up & coming, Melbourne-based Freelance Costumier. A graduate of Costume for Performance at Swinburne University in 2012,
Karina finds her passion in making costumes for dancers. She has been dancing & performing in Calisthenics since the age of 3, competing at the highest levels of the sport, which helps her to understand the way dancers bodies move, helping to create comfortable & stylish costumes for them. She has been lucky enough to receive some amazing industry opportunities that have helped her create her own place in the costume industry.

Couture Costume deals with every process of making a costume. As well as tailoring costumes to each performer, we also deal with designing, client communication, quoting, invoicing, accounting, finance management, cutting, creating large sets of costumes as well as one off pieces and also packing & delivering the costumes locally and interstate.

Karina would love to thank everyone & anyone that has influence & inspired her passion for costume especially my mum & my aunty, who helps her out in the busiest of times. But the biggest thanks of all has to go to my Nanna Bear; who is no longer with us, as she was the person who first put that needle & thread in my hand, and taught me how to sew.
