Cedar Lodge started in 2001 as a home based business - providing the local community with rug repairs, wormers and a small range of rugs and accessories. At this stage I was already sewing for another manufacturer - when that ended I started my own line of rugs in 2004 and Champion Rugs was born. A lot has happened in 14 years, we have done numerous trade shows, sponsored countless events and have employed several people along the way, as well as running a shop front saddlery in Emerald for 4 years. Running a shop front was enjoyable but very hard on my young family and we made the decision to bring it all back home and run it once again out of my small sheds! I love what I do, helping customers, making friends along the way and enjoying life! We are a small business with big ideas - I do most of the work myself and employ another sewer and an embroiderer and without them orders would take twice as long to get out! With the future looking as busy as ever - we plan to build another large shed with a shop front and hopefully employ another person that can take some of the sewing/cutting stress off me! *Even though we do import some gorgeous rugs - 90% of our business is still us handcrafting and making our own Australian made product!
