CCC Solomon Islands Ministry Team

This year we have a team of 18 students and 4 team leaders heading to the Solomons in September. The main project for the 2016 ministry trip will see us partnering with UCB Solomon Islands (United Christian Broadcasters) and local churches to help establish the first FM Christian radio station in the Western Provence. With a focus on youth, music and teaching, the UCB broadcast includes content from PNG and Australia . According to UCB, the locals are very excited to have access to a new christian youth radio station which they can access using their mobile phone or solar power radios. Laef (Solomon Pijin English - Life) FM 93.5 is now broadcast and listened to across the entire capital city of Honiara and in many of the smaller villages and islands.
Our Ministry Team will work in Munda for around 4-5 days, helping build the studio facilities including a kitchen, bathroom and recording studio. We have already been able to provide vital funding to install a new high powered transmitter. When in the Solomons we will be able to distribute pre-tuned solar powered radios and copies of a pacific edition of Word for Today.
