Have a crazy idea? Random suggestion? Feedback? We'd LOVE to hear from you lashbrook.farm@gmail.com

We (aka Bryson and Anna Lashbrook) established Lashbrook Farm in 2014 -along with our three 'helpers'.

We were in the market for a great name for our eggs. Our good friend Brian Hyde, suggested Cackleberries - an Aussie 50's slang for eggs. - It was perfect and Cackleberries by Lashbrook Farm was born.

Our licensed farm produces premium, free range eggs. Premium is an industry term reflecting both egg quality together with the highest possible animal welfare conditions.

To date, our clients include Food I Am cooking school, Mates Gully Organics, Magpies Nest Restaurant, Wagga Meat Supply, Dough Re Mi Cookies, Junee IGA and Coolamon Foodworks

The hens are free to roam all day, everyday. As soon as the sun is up - so are they. We have solar doors on the shed that are timed to open prior to sunrise each day.

The chooks are free to perch, forage, dust bath, scratch around wherever they please. For this reason, we were invited to Parliament House in March 2016 to meet with key ministers to help develop the free range egg labelling standard. Not bad for a micro operation.

Lashbrook Farm has been listed by Choice as one of the best in terms of stocking density and price/100g. Cackleberries have also hit the small screen, getting up close and personal with James Reeson on the 'Alive and Cooking' show.

Our focus is simple. Eggs as fresh as you can get, from chooks that are genuinely loving life and and giving back.

Our hens are never kept under lighting (to artificially increase egg production) or slaughtered simply because they turn 18months old. The hens are all re-homed at 18 months ($10ea) - they have plenty of egg laying life left, perfect for backyard life as they are used to being handled - particularly by kids. We love seeing pics of their new homes......hint, hint ;)

At dusk, they take themselves off to bed in their re-purposed stable - for safety, protection from wind, rain, cold etc. Soon after, the solar doors close and the chooks are safe for the night.

Our chooks have constant access to rainwater from the five large tanks located on the property. No chemical sprays/pesticides/fertilisers are used on the property.

We have started taking chooks (voluntary basis) to visit local nursing homes. This is such an awesome thing to be involved in and we look forward to expanding this to include retirement villages, juvenile detention, hospitals, palliative care as well as other regional centres.
