More about C Shotokan Karate

WHO AM I?
Sensei Charlotte
Commonwealth Champion, National Champion

I began Karate at the age of 5 in England at my local leisure centre. Growing up with three brothers I decided it would be a good idea to learn a few skills on how to look after myself.
A year into training, I entered into my first competition. I found herself winning a few more tournaments than expected and going along to more and more training camps and seminars, it was safe to say I was hooked on the martial art of Shotokan Karate.
At the age of 10 I had my grading for 1st Dan (black belt), and knew shortly I would be movingly to Australia.
By the time I had to move to Australia I had won the English Karate of Great Britain Title twice, International Championship twice, and was the British Champion. I knew then that was not the time to end my journey.
Since moving to Australia I has represented Queensland 8 times and claimed the Australian Title 6 times.
I have represented Australia in the Oceanic Championship held in Tahiti where I came away with bronze.

Today's total Championship and Tournament’s Medal Count:
25 trophies of a mixture from UK Tournament’s.
24 gold medals (Mixture English Karate of Great Britain and Australian titles)
23 silver medals (Mixture English Karate of Great Britain and Australian titles)
21 bronze medals. (Mixture English Karate of Great Britain and Australian titles)

I have a passion for the sports competition side of Karate as you can see from my story, but that is only one aspect of Karate.
I love the combinations, real life self-defence and the respect and etiquette that comes along with doing a traditional Martial Art. I have trained in Shotokan Karate, a traditional Martial Art developed from various Karate styles by Gichin Funakoshi, where in 1924 showed it to the mainland of Japan to develop Shotokan Karate.
Now at the tender age of 21! September 2015 I took the next step in my journey and opened my very own Dojo (Karate school) in Noosa Fair
Driven by my personal Karate experience and the love for helping others it was a dream come true.
C Shotokan Karate is a traditional Shotokan Karate club using the syllabus taught to me in the UK by my mentor and Master Sensei John Anderson.
My aim for the Dojo, C Shotokan Karate, is to feel confident knowing my students will be able to look after themselves in a strong, confident, and respectful for all. The very importance of life is to be able to look after you in any situation life may behold.
Thank you for taking the time to read the above.
