On Fridays, three young ladies meet to participate in a speech group to practice communication with AAC devices. AAC stands for alternative and Augmentative communication, Brodie, Abby and Penny use computers to write out sentences and then speak them. The trio used computers because their Cerebral Palsy has affected their speech and movement.

The group aged between 20- 22years wrote a story with their devices and have turned it into a book which they have published. Don’t be fooled by the name, Sarcastic Blue diarrhoea, is a beautiful tale of how three characters; a gnome, a florist and a happy monster meet and become friends.

The book won the group writing award for the 2017 Telescope awards. Having their accomplishments recognised has motivated the group to get their book published.
