Baby Zac's Shack

Almost every school holidays when I was younger my Mum and I would head down to the local fabric store and buy our supplies. Whether it be cushions, blankets, dolls clothes (or clothes for the dog) there was always something to be made. I would lug her heavy old sewing machine out of the cupboard and onto the kitchen table, spend half an hour setting it up and threading the cotton, only for it to buckle, tangle up and make a big mess of the cotton 5 minutes later and I would start the whole process again.

She didn't care that I would waste metres of fabric only to make something that I later threw out. She continued to encourage me and for that I am very grateful.

After moving out of home I didn't do much sewing, although I did ocasionally borrow that heavy old machine to do the odd job. In 2011 my Mum gave me a sewing machine for Christmas and the memories of my childhood came flooding back. I was soon regularly fixing my Hubsand's work pants and making the odd toy.

Each quilt is inspired by cherished memories of my childhood. I wish to share these moments with you and your family. I hope that you too can create beautiful memories for your children.
