Australia Pacific Business Connections is an online hub that covers the latest news, information and resources from:
The Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council (APNGBC);
The Australia Fiji Business Council (AFBC) and; The Australia Pacific Islands Business Council (APIBC).
The Council’s goals are to advance the interests of Australian business in the Pacific island economies and Pacific islands’ business with interests in Australia by:
- Increasing bilateral trade and investment between Australia and the region;
- Encouraging the further development and expansion of the economies of the Pacific island economies;
- Representing Australian business interests to the Australian and Pacific islands governments;
- Providing a network of business people with shared interests in the Pacific island economies.
The management of each Council is vested under a constitution in an Executive Committee, headed by a President and Vice-Presidents, elected at an Annual General Meeting of members.
The Councils are membership based not-for-profit associations of Australia-based businesses with interests in the business and economic relationship between Australia and the relevant Pacific jurisdictions.
The Councils work to promote trade and investment between Australia and those jurisdictions and economic growth through business growth, act as channels for communication to governments on policy issues germane to business, and as a centre for networking and information.
The Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council covers those two countries only.
The Australia Fiji Business Council covers those two countries only.
The Australia Pacific Islands Business Council covers Australia and the following countries: American Samoa, Cook Islands, CNMI, Federated States of Micronesia, French Polynesia, Guam, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna.
Membership of the Council(s) covers a wide range of industry groups from large corporations to smaller companies.
