Arabesque (pronounced aa-rah-besk) is Located in Elsternwick, considered by many to be one of the most important areas of historical Melbourne…(Not Really) The restaurant lies in the shadow of the Alexander Xii Church which is famous for its mosaics’ in the Byzantine empire period….(not true at all), its actually located in the Old Elsternwick Post Office building. Our restaurant who’s dishes reflect the electic nature of the Turco, Gypsie-Ottoman neighbourhood, was named Arabesque which not only means a ballet body position in which a dancer stands on one leg, but the floral continuous pattern art used in architecture in Asia Minor and in the Middle East.
Under the guidance of our senior “Food archaeologist” Mr Fahrettin Elmas, the kitchen team of Arabesque applies key principles to this cuisine.
Secrets of Arabesque’s success”
